Crafting has got so many many dimensions. From alter crafts, to card making to mixed media , it’s endless and completely fun to play around !!!
If you like dirty colorful hands then this next project is for you 😉 . And yeah also for the kids . I’m sure they’re never fussy when it comes to dipping little fingers in paint bottles. With a little bit of help from the adult, kids will have a fantastic time making this project 🙂 Let me share with you a cool mixed media project with you guys.
- a newspaper spread
- Glue/ double sided tape
- Heavy white gesso/ white acrylic paint
- Colourful acrylic bottles
- Any printed sentiment or writing.
- A few rhinestone stickers
- A lace piece.
STEP1 First take a newspaper spread (any size) and fold it in half .stick all but one side, and fold the newspaper into half .
Step 2: now again fold the newspaper into half, open and stick the two opposite sides . You can use double sided adhesive instead of glue on both parallel sides.
This will give you a pocket.
STEP3 Now comes the fun part. The decorations. 🙂 . First use some white heavy gesso or white acrylic paint on the entire page on one side of the envelope. Make sure you don’t heavily apply the paint or gesso. You only have to prep the page with a light hand strokes.
STEP4 . Then use your fingers to dip in each acrylic bottle of paint and mix and spread here and there randomly. Remember to wipe your hands each time you change the colour. Also, when you mix color, the result should not give you a brown muddy color. Let the paint dry.
STEP 5 now add a lace piece, a printed sentiment , writing or a quote and rhinestones to embellish the page.
Ta-da !!!! A fun decorative and creative envelope is all ready !!! .
Hope you guys enjoyed this project …
Would love to see your creations too.
